The following interactive story was written on 31st July, 2001. It has been an exciting project for me. This story is all my own work. It is purely fiction and none of the characters or storylines are based on people I know. It illustrates well how one decision you make in life can affect the whole of your future. Please do post me some feedback on my feedback board to be found at the end of the story. I hope you enjoy the story :-)
The Story
The wardrobe door was flung open for the 5th time that evening. Kara just couldn't decide what she would be wearing for her night out with her best friend, Vicky and their friends, Marilyn & Rosy. Kara wasn't sure if she was looking forward to the evening or not in reality. They had not been out as a group of friends in quite some time. Kara's prediction for the evening was that Marilyn would turn up in designer gear and imply that every bloke on the dance floor fancied her, Rosy would just talk about her married life and the latest washing machine her and hubby have bought and Vicky would be bringing that dreadful, arrogant boyfriend she has just began dating.
The gang met through university and at one time, were a close group of friends, but once they left uni, things began to change. Rosy met her husband, Bob and stopped wanting to go out with the girls much to their disgust. Marilyn began cancelling nights out with Vicky and Kara to go out with her new, more hip, work friends. Vicky started to dislike clubbing as she said it wasn't the same with just herself and Kara, so they started doing other things as friends, going to the gym or hanging out at home. However, tonight, they had all agreed to meet up again for a night out since they hadn't got together in ages. Kara was mildly miffed at the fact Vicky had found herself a boyfriend whom she despised, but Vicky did still make time to see Kara once a week.
Kara's clothes were now covering her bed to the extent there was barely anything remaining in her wardrobe.
"What the heck am I going to wear?" she panicked. Kara began to feel even more uncomfortable. It had been ages since they all met up. Did she have anything in common with Marilyn who had a new set of friends who were very appearance centred and materialistic like her? Did she have anything in common with Rosy anymore who would rather talk about the legs on her new pine table instead of the legs on the nice looking men dancing? Did she really want to go clubbing with Vicky, knowing her arrogant new boyfriend who she cannot stand would be around? Or, should she make the effort to meet her friends again since they don't get together very often now? ....... I will let you be the decider. You choose .......
